If you are the type to listen to a good podcast or two, there is a good chance that you have heard about a product called a Casper Mattress. Or maybe you went that next step. You heard the podcast, bought and loved the mattress, and now you are looking at your poor fur baby trying to get comfortable on the tile floor. Surely there is a mattress out there for my dog that is as good as my Casper? Well, my well-rested friend, you are in luck because now Casper makes mattresses for pooches too.

When we looked at the experiences of real shoppers. Real dog parents just like you, we were impressed by how much love this dog bed received. One person from the US named Robin Smith said:

“My 80 lb. Bernedoodle has been using this for a couple of months now and it has still maintain it’s shape. Many other beds flattened out fairly quickly. I have washed it a couple of times and it still looks like new.”

Other reviewers like Robin raved about the durability of the bed as well as how easy it is to clean. Clearly it is the best dog bed in the world. Too good to be true? Maybe. A Mrs. Suzanne Bridges from Canada says:

“This is one tough dog bed. My mini Schnauzer loves to dig and root in his beds and has destroyed a few beds. Not this bed.”

dP from the United States says:

”…The cover acts amazingly well with wet or dirty dogs: easily washes (I usually do cold water and low temp dry) and has absolutely no stains. I need to buy another one bc these guys are trying to fit both of them on this bed versus the older dog bed that we owned.”

Ok it is settled right? Yay! We can all go home now. Not so fast. Check out a few other choice words some reviewers had to say about the Casper Dog Bed.

An anonymous customer left a review saying the opposite of the Casper Claims:

“Casper says cover is stain resistant but chewing a bone stained it. I washed it and it didn’t come out after 3 washes. Replacement don’t exist / nothing else fits. Going to be looking at other things now “

Or infuriated like Tuffie from the US?” Individual experiences often don’t tell the entire story. When we look at the overall ratings of this dog bed on Amazon it has an average global rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars, with 70% of the ratings being 5 star. On the whole it seems like more people had a good experience so maybe it is worth a shot. Next we are going to look at:

Is it worth it?

Once again we are going to lean on the experiences of real people who purchased this product to answer this question. Some shoppers thought that this bed did not live up to the Casper name, and dare we say hype? Some of the people we listened to gave a big “NO!” hands down. One reviewer from the UK said that they “wanted to love it”, but the foam in the bed arrived completely deformed and settled very flat. Another said:

“I have spent less money on better dog beds that were much higher quality than this. Shame on Casper.”

So judging from these people’s experiences we would have to say maybe we should pass on this dog bed.

Will it last?

We sure would have an easy job if everyone had only positive things to say, but once again some people say this is ultra durable while others cast doubts. Among the worst user experiences had to do with corner seams not holding up. An unhappy reviewer said:

“I’m very disappointed in the corner seams, however. While the thick material isn’t going to tear easily, the first corner seam ripped within a week.”

Another said that If the corners were reinforced then they would give the bed a five star review, but they were also having issues with corner seams giving out not long after purchase.

On the other hand, different people seemed to have an experience that couldn’t be further than these complaints. A US Reviewer said that after 2 months of abuse from their 50 lb Boxer, the Casper was still as good as new. Many people reported how much better this bed stood up compared to even more expensive beds that they had purchased in the past. Clearly some people have had a great experience with the durability of this one.

Well that is the end of our Casper review. Once again when it comes to the question of durability, quality construction, and value for dollars, the answer varies wildly depending on who you ask. It seems that there are some legitimate issues you could possibly experience with this bed. To be fair that goes for every product. Not everyone is going to love it. The numbers don’t lie though. Most people are in love with their Casper as well as the one for their dog. 🙂 On the whole it seems to be a good choice if you are looking to spoil that fur kid of yours.

Read carefully and pick your poison

One thing to consider about this bed, many of the negative reviews came from the fact that the bed that arrived was not what they were expecting. People complained that the bed was constructed from “cheap foam” and not memory foam. It is important to note that on the amazon listing you can choose what type of material: Cooling Gel Foam, Memory Foam, or Orthopedic foam or you can even order just the cover. The pros for this one are simple. The size. It can be difficult to find one of these cave beds for large dogs. This Cozy Cave comes in four sizes. One shopper who bought the XL and their two dogs, one 65 lbs and one 80 lbs were both able to fit in the bed comfortably.

It is a legitimate question. If you grew up with parents like mine who were a little more “old school”, the family dog was outside, and if it was lucky he or she got to lay just inside the front door. YOU SHALL NOT PASS! Things have certainly changed since I was a kid. With more and more designer dog breeds than ever, people are much more used to the idea that the family dog is truly a part of the family. Between dog clothing, dog portraits, people wonder if the world has gone too soft. Do dogs actually need a bed? What is the purpose of a dog bed?

“Dogs are animals. They don’t have beds in the wild” Sure that is true. But dogs have come a long way since their wolf ancestors and most of today’s common breeds are not equipped at all to live in the wild. Dogs have been living with humans for so long it is hard to truly understand how much they have changed. They have come to rely on us and we have come to rely on them. So you might wonder, am I just babying my dog or do they actually need their own bed. Well, you only have to look at our url and you can probably guess that we are going to say a resounding yes! But now let’s look at some of the reasons why this purchase might be a very good investment in the health and wellness of your pup.

Helps with anxiety

Although we just got done discussing that dogs are indeed NOT wolves, they still share many of their basic instincts. Wolves and wild dogs by nature spend their rest and sleeping times in caves. He would curl up in a blanket on the elevated bed and could rest knowing he wasn’t going to accidentally become a doggy football.

Losing Saki was one of the toughest losses I have experienced. He lived to a healthy 15 years of age. Towards the end of his life his arthritis clearly was beginning to bother him. Aging dogs need extra support for their joints and ligaments. A proper bed can support them and keep their joints warmer during sleep time. A proper orthopedic dog bed can do wonders for aging dogs, many times there is a visible improvement in their mobility once they are transitioned to a proper bed. If your dog is anything like our Gus, one dog bed isn’t enough, in fact I will say that 5 or 10 beds aren’t enough. Our fur baby doesn’t settle into just one bed during the night, but he moves around from one bed to the next. Maybe he was a policeman in his past life? 😊 But whatever the reason, he certainly likes to police the house and keep an eye on things. Inevitably one of his “beds” ends up being the couch. So, if you have been in this position, you might be wondering what is the best dog blanket for your couch.

There are so many different kinds of pet blankets on the market today with prices and features that wildly vary. Today we are looking at a blanket by Pawsse which just happens to be Amazon’s choice for this category. When we looked at the customer experiences, both good and bad, we found a lot of contradicting information. It can be hard to know whether or not a product is going to be right for you based on all of the data online. Despite some of the confusion we still feel that this blanket is a great choice for most people looking for a good blanket to protect your furniture. So without further ado let’s take a closer look.

This blanket is reversible and provides to different textures for your pup depending on the situation. One side is a plush microfleece and on the other side of the blanket is a Sherpa backing for warmth. So if you are like us this probably leads us to the first question.

Is it really waterproof?

We read a lot of customer reviews here at dogbed360 and rarely do we see such a contentious divide between customer experiences. People were either wildly enthusiastic about the waterproof capability, or infuriated and disappointed that this blanket did not live up to their expectations. One customer was pleased to find that the blanket successfully repelled an 8 oz glass of water during an initial test. Another customer was very frustrated to find that their cat had urinated on the blanket only to find that it completely soaked through the blankets and sheets of their bed. There were multiple contradicting reports when it came to the efficacy of this feature but we were able to find some answers.

At this point you might be scratching your head like we were. Which is it? Waterproof? or not? We may have found the answer to this in the review of one customer.
